Retreats

The recent pandemic has obviously halted many of Slow Yoga’s plans for yoga retreats. As someone who loves being in nature, Sally has sought out unusual places for her retreats.

At the moment there are a few options:

Scotland: Muck: An Island off the West Coast: JUNE, JULY 2025

There is the opportunity to take part in a week’s yoga retreat on a tiny Scottish Island. Accommodation will be varied, ranging from cheaper Bunkhouse self-catering to a room in the only small hotel on the island. There is also the option of a Yurt for those more adventurous who like to be truly in the wild!

The locals are enthusiastic about this event happening on their island, as they are intending to participate in the yoga events. Access to their beautiful Island Centre will be available, with a spacious room for the yoga and access to a kitchen and Library. There may also be the possibility of a Celeidh and other events the Islanders will be inspired to provide for you, not to mention the seal watching and perhaps even some otter sightings!

France: Haute Savoie – the High Alps – MAY to SEPTEMBER 2025

A mountain retreat which is only accessible on foot. We will be staying in the high mountains, in the sunshine, overlooking the snow-covered Meije, the largest mountain in the area, with its magnificent glacier. Accommodation is in yurts provided by the landowner. Yoga sessions will be under cover or outside and there are many walks from the main house, including one to a beautiful lake where we can bathe and let the breath-taking views sink in.

North Yorkshire: JANUARY to APRIL 2025 An ex-hunting lodge in the middle of the woods. This will be a mid-week retreat. There is a delightful waterfall a short walk from the house where we will be staying, as well as numerous other walks and access to the nearest town by car. Accommodation is usually in a shared room (some private rooms available depending on numbers) There is an open fire in the yoga studio and a log burner in a cosy sitting room. Meals will be taken in the lovely communal dining room. There will be plenty of cosy and inspiring indoor activities to keep us busy in the evenings.
